Patriot Day 9/ 11 - 9/ 15 2023
Patriot Day
In 2002 President George W. Bush declared September 11th as Patriot Day. The purpose of this day is to honor and remember the victims and heroes of 9/11, including the brave first responders who risked their lives to save others.
On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four airplanes. Two planes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing both towers to collapse. Another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia, and the fourth plane, crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after passengers bravely fought back against the hijackers. These coordinated attacks, carried out by a terrorist group called Al-Qaeda resulted in the loss of thousands of lives and caused massive devastation and grief across the nation. The 9/11 attacks were a turning point in American history and had a profound impact on the country and the world.
