The First Day of School Has Changed!

In order to provide a quality Distance Learning instructional program for our students and families, we will be postponing our students’ start of the school year. Our Board of Education approved the changes to the school calendars during a special meeting this evening. This means that the first day for students enrolled in our TK-8 schools will be August 17, 2020. This also changes the last day of school for students in our TK-8 schools to June 4, 2021. More detailed information will be coming in the near future about what this learning at home model will look like. A copy of the revised school calendar has been attached to this message for your reference.

Our school site offices are open for our families on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to assist families with enrollment and residency verification, and our staff is working hard to prepare for the distribution of supplies and distance learning equipment that is needed to launch our new school year.

New School Year

Dear Nuview Families,

It is hard to believe that the 2018-2019 school year is rapidly approaching! We hope you had a relaxing summer and are enjoying your last days of vacation.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 14, 2018. The gates to the campus will be open at 7:30 a.m. and breakfast will begin at that time also. Classes begin at 8:20 a.m. Students will be released at 2:47 p.m. As a reminder, Wednesdays are minimum days each week and students are released at 1:42 p.m.

On the first day of school, parents will be able to walk their students to their classrooms. If you will be staying after the 8:20 a.m. bell the first day, you will need to inform the teacher and sign in with our LobbyGuard program in the office. Beginning Wednesday, August 15, anyone entering the campus before school starts will need to sign in to LobbyGuard at 7:50 a.m. in the office.

Class lists will be posted on Monday, August 13, 2018 after 5:00 p.m. No changes to a student’s class assignment can be made until after the second week of school. Enrollment packets will be accepted on the first day, however, students will not be assigned to a class until the following day.

Students will receive a packet on the first day of school with school schedules and important information for you. There will be forms that need to be signed and returned to your child’s teacher. Please be sure to look for that packet in your child’s back pack!

We are very excited to see you all back and are looking forward to a great school year!

John Wilder, Principal
